Dear Neighbor,
I hope this message finds you and your family well. It’s been another busy and rewarding month — both in Raleigh and across our district. From advancing important public safety legislation to celebrating our incredible students, educators, and community leaders, I’m proud of the accomplishments we continue to see of our friends and neighbors.
As always, thank you for allowing me the honor of representing Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties in the NC House. If my office can ever be of assistance to you or your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
At your service,
Chris Humphrey
State Representative
NC HOUSE PASSES "IRYNA'S LAW"

Our communities deserve peace of mind knowing repeat violent offenders won’t slip through the cracks. That's why I voted YES to pass Iryna’s Law — because I believe in accountability and justice.
This new law protects victims, keeps dangerous criminals behind bars, and delivers enhanced public safety for every North Carolinian.

CELEBRATING THE AWARD-WINNING GREENE CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL BAND

We were pleased to host the award-winning Greene Central High School band — who offered an outstanding performance at the NCGA last month!
Thank you for making Greene County proud with your dedication to excellence. You are a shining example of what hard work & talent can achieve. We’re incredibly proud of the band, their leadership, and all who helped make this happen!
JONES COUNTY HERITAGE FESTIVAL

Congratulations to the organizers of the Jones County Heritage Festival on another successful celebration of our community’s rich history and traditions!
It’s always great for folks come together and enjoy good food, family fun, and local heritage. I hope everyone who attended had a great time!
LENOIR COUNTY AGRICULTURAL FAIR

What a fantastic week at the 2025 Lenoir County Agricultural Fair! From the tractor pulls to the talent shows, this year’s fair was one of the best we’ve seen in a long time.
Hats off to the all-volunteer Lenoir County Fair Association for their hard work and dedication — you’ve made our community proud! It’s events like these that remind us why Eastern North Carolina is such a special place to call home.
FRIENDS OF SCOUTING BANQUET

It was an honor to attend the Friends of Scouting banquet to highlight the dedication and commitment of Dr. Lee Cox to the youth in Lenoir and Greene Counties. As an Eagle Scout, I am thankful for Scout leaders like Dr. Cox, who give so much to our communities.
Our keynote speaker was NFL Hall of Famer and former Carolina Panthers Tight End, Wesley Walls.
HELPING HANDS GRANT TO LENOIR COMMUNITY COLLEGE

I recently had the honor of presenting a Helping Hands Grant from The Allstate Foundation to Lenoir Community College! 🎓
As a proud LCC graduate, it’s a privilege to give back to the institution that helped shape my path. Supporting education in Eastern NC has always been a top priority, and I’m grateful to continue serving on the LCC Foundation Board.
GREENE COUNTY COMMUNITY ALL-STARS

It was a pleasure to attend the Greene County Community All-Stars event last week. It was a meaningful night recognizing folks who go above and beyond for our community — and they deserve every bit of that spotlight.
Congratulations to this year’s honorees:
⭐️ Dr. Taylor Moore, Young Professional of the Year
⭐️ Greg Ellis, Service to Youth Award
⭐️ Kellie Taylor, Pinnacle of Achievement Award
⭐️ Ray Holloman, Citizen of the Year
Each of them is making a real difference right here in Greene County.
And a big thank you to the Boys & Girls Club for the important work you’re doing for children across our community. I’m proud to support efforts like these that are investing in the next generation.
LUNCH WITH ROTARY CLUB OF KINSTON

It was great to see my fellow Rotarians at Kings Restaurant for the Rotary Club of Kinston lunch. I appreciate the hard work and dedication these leaders have for our community.
CONGRATULATIONS, RACHEL NOBLE! U.S. PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLAR

Congratulations to Rachel Noble, a proud 2025 South Lenoir High School graduate, on being named a U.S. Presidential Scholar — one of just 161 students nationwide! 🎓
Her academic excellence, leadership, and community spirit are a testament to the strength of Lenoir County. We’re proud to see her representing Eastern North Carolina on the national stage!
