Before adjourning for Summer Break, we wrapped up a productive session at the NC General Assembly — passing legislation that puts North Carolinians first. We remain focused on delivering common-sense, conservative solutions that truly improve lives across our state.

Back home, it's been a privilege to connect with folks across the district — from celebrating the Class of 2025 and tracking progress on the new Greene Central High School, to meeting with our sheriffs and county officials.

We had a productive week in Raleigh before gaveling out for Summer Break. From delivering hurricane relief to supporting our military families with tuition assistance — we’ve advanced common-sense reforms to strengthen communities in Eastern NC and across our state:

GOVERNOR STEIN'S VETOES

Governor Stein’s vetoes raise serious concerns about public safety and the values we hold dear in Eastern North Carolina. I will proudly stand with my colleagues and vote to override each one.

Our legislation aims to secure the border and promote constitutional gun rights — because our communities deserve leaders who back the badge, defend the Constitution, and put North Carolinians first.

House Bill 318 — The Criminal Illegal Alien Enforcement Act.
Senate Bill 50 — Freedom to Carry NC.
Senate Bill 153 — North Carolina Border Protection Act.

Senate Bill 266 — The Power Bill Reduction Act.

It was an honor to spend time on the NC House floor with a true North Carolina legend, former U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole. Her legacy of service — both in Washington and through the Elizabeth Dole Foundation — continues to inspire us all. We’re grateful for her unwavering commitment to our veterans, caregivers, and the people of North Carolina. 🇺🇸

MEETING WITH GREENE COUNTY SHERIFF

It was great to have Sheriff Matt Sasser from Greene County visit our office at the NC General Assembly in Raleigh. We had a valuable conversation about strengthening public safety in Eastern North Carolina and beyond.

It is very exciting to see the hard work on the new Greene Central High School project coming to life! I’m honored to play a small role in working alongside administrators, elected officials, and community partners to help make this new school a reality.
