KINSTON, N.C. — This week, Representative Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir, Greene, Jones) received the endorsement of the State Employees’ Association of North Carolina (SEANC). Representing over 46,000 state employees and retirees, SEANC plays a crucial role in advocating for the rights, pay, retirement, and health plans of those who dedicate their careers to serving the state of North Carolina.
“Our hardworking state employees are the backbone of our government, and their dedication keeps North Carolina moving forward,” said Humphrey, “I’m honored to receive SEANC’s endorsement, and I look forward to continuing our work together to support and advocate for the needs of those who serve our state every day.”
SEANC’s endorsement is part of a bipartisan slate of candidates that reflects the organization’s commitment to supporting those who stand up for the interests of state employees. In state House races, SEANC made 85 endorsements, including 46 for Republicans and 39 for Democrats. In the Senate, SEANC endorsed 35 candidates, with 19 Republicans and 16 Democrats receiving support.
Ardis Watkins, SEANC Executive Director, expressed enthusiasm about the organization’s involvement in this year’s elections, stating, “We will have members volunteering in all of these races all over the state. The enthusiasm we are hearing from our members about getting involved in elections this year is off the charts. In terms of the people that we get behind, they are very, very often the winners.”
