RALEIGH, N.C. — On Thursday, North Carolina House Speaker Tim Moore appointed Rep. Chris Humphrey (R-Lenoir, Greene, Jones) to serve on the House Redistricting Committee.
“I’m honored to have been appointed by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Redistricting Committee,” said Humphrey, “Redistricting is a vital part of our democracy, and I am ready to work diligently with my colleagues to ensure a fair and transparent process that upholds the principles of representative government.”
Rep. Chris Humphrey is a resident of Kinston and has represented House District 12 in the North Carolina General Assembly since elected to the seat in 2018. Humphrey also serves on the committees on Agriculture, Appropriations, Appropriations–AGNER, Disaster Recovery & Homeland Security, Health, and as Chairman of the House Committee on Insurance.
The House Committee on Redistricting is scheduled to meet jointly with the Senate Committee on Redistricting & Elections on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the College of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC.
